Abdominal Snowman?

Hey guys.. anyone use this blog anymore?? :-)

Yesterday Maka apparently saw the "abdominal" snowman sleeping in the woods behind our house!! LOL It actually turned out to be a really big dead deer. Not sure how it died. Possibly it was wounded by a hunter and ran through the woods until it collapsed on our property about 50 feet away from the back of our house.

This morning we had a bit of a suprise. There was a big gray animal eating away at the deer. We assumed it was a cayote since they have similar shape and color and there are a lot of them around this area. Taking a closer look with our binoculars revealed that it actually wasn't a cayote. This creature had a cat face! From looking around at information on google, I think the animal is a bobcat, although it seems to be really big for a bobcat. Overall it's about the size of an adult German shepard dog, actually a fat German shepard. This cat was really fat.

Looking back into the woods some more, I now see what appears to be either a hawk or an eagle eating away at the deer. Too bad the cat left, I'm sure there would have been a good fight. Hopefully during the next few days the animals finish off the deer, cause it will really smell bad if there is a lot of flesh on it left to rot - yuck. Here is a picture I found online of a bobcat. He was standing there just like this one staring at me and maka when we were looking at him with the binoculars. He probably heard us bump into the sliding glass door. Maka also mentioned that she thought she saw a baby cat with him.. but I didn't see it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hi Guys,

Hope you had a wonderful christmas and new year. I hope to see some more pictures on here from your holidays - especially Malta, since I've never been there for Christmas :-)

Maka and I spent last weekend in New York. Here's some pics we took at a Spain/Mexican restaurant. We drank lots of sangria and margaritas, yum.

We didn't get a lot of pictures outside because it was raining most of the day Saturday, and was FREEZING cold on Sunday. On our way to MoMA (Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art) from lunch at time square, we had to make 3 or 4 stops at different starbucks to warm up :-)

I'll post some more pictures later from our christmas and new years.

Ciao
